Ways to Give
How to Make a GiftYou can make a donation to Northwest in a variety ways, including cash, securities, real estate, or personal property. The NWC Foundation can also help you with memorial gifts or honorariums, and process matching gifts. Gifts to the Northwest College Foundation are tax-deductible as provided by law.
Cash
SecuritiesThe best stocks to donate are those that have increased
greatly in value, particularly those producing a low yield. By donating
appreciated securities to NWC Foundation, you avoid capital gains tax
as well as receive a tax deduction for making a charitable gift. Gifts
of stock are tax deductible at the full fair market value. If you have
stock losses, sell the stock yourself to realize the loss and take
the deduction for tax purposes. Then generate a charitable contribution
deduction by donating the cash proceeds of the sale to NWC Foundation.

Real EstateIf you own property that is fully paid off and has appreciated in value, an outright gift may be the simplest solution. You can deduct the fair market value of your gift, avoid all capital gains taxes and remove that asset from your taxable estate. Please contact the or 1.800.498.3914 to discuss a gift of real estate.
Personal PropertyAssets related to the educational mission of Northwest College (books, art works, scientific or historical collections, etc.) generate tax deductions equal to the fair market value of the gift. For more information, please contact the or call 1.800.498.3914.
Matching GiftsMany companies will match their employees' charitable giving with a gift of their own to institutions of higher education. Some also match charitable contributions made by retirees or directors. Matching gifts are directed to the same college, program, or scholarship fund as was the employee's original gift. If you have the opportunity to secure corporate matching funds for Northwest, we hope you will.

Memorials and HonorariumsA gift to education is a particularly meaningful way to pay tribute to someone special in your life or in the life of Northwest College. It even makes a distinctive anniversary or birthday gift for those who hold NWC dear. We are happy to notify honored designees or the family members of those remembered with your gifts, if you provide appropriate contact information when you make donations. |

The simplest way to give, cash gifts offer a tax deduction for
the full amount in the year in which you make contributions. Your cash
gifts are deductible up to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income
for the taxable year, but any excess is deductible over the next
five years. NWC Foundation offers a variety of giving options for
your convenience including online donations or mail to the NWC Foundation,
231 W. Sixth St., Powell, WY 82435; or installment payments via electronic
