Portfolio Requirements
New students who want to be considered for a scholarship, must present a portfolio of original works to the faculty. We prefer to interview you and review your portfolio in person on Scholarship Day, but if you cannot attend Scholarship Day, you may submit an electronic portfolio along with your online application. Current students do not need to attend Scholarship Day.
General portfolio requirements:
Your portfolio is an important part of your scholarship application. The portfolio should showcase your best work, presented as professionally as possible. It will be evaluated on artistic and conceptual content, design and composition, technical skill, and creative potential. Submit 10-20 examples of your best and most recent work. Please note that we recommend several of these works to be observational drawings as part of your portfolio. Your portfolio in general may include classroom work, studio assignments, personal projects and/or sketchbook work.
Visual art or design pieces may be executed in any medium, in black and white or color, and may include, but are not limited to, drawing, painting, design, printmaking, collage, photography, ceramics, sculpture, or digital art.
How to submit:
Portfolios should be submitted in person during a campus visit. If you are not able to attend Scholarship Day, you may send a digital version of your portfolio with your scholarship application. All digital images must be saved as JPEGs and file size must be kept under 1 MB. You may compile your images into a PowerPoint presentation, but please keep it simple. You may upload your digital portfolio with your online scholarship application.
Scholarship applications sent via normal mail must include a digital portfolio on a CD-ROM.
